| If you don't immediately see what you're looking for, be sure to check
the noted quicklists of multiple sites. For example, the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) is,
logically, on the list under Health & Human Services; the NSC
(National Security Council) and OMB
(Office of Management & Budget) et al. are under Executive Office of the President;
the CIA, EPA, FCC, NASA et al. are under Independent U.S.
Government Agencies. The links on these quicklists are almost always only one to two
clicks from the destination website. If you contact an agency and get either no reply or
an unsatisfactory one, contact your Representative (especially) and/or either one or both
of your Senators. In writing -- by email
or by post. Address your initial issue to him, her, or them, and complain too about
the agency. You may be pleasantly surprised at the response (although -- if you're unfortunate enough to be represented by
lazybones, morons, or jerks -- you may not
be pleasantly surprised; but give it a shot). And although it's always nice to get a
"Thanks for writing, thanks for your concern" from the White House, don't count
on any actual practical assistance from any president's administration.
