^ Mike expositorily hitting his stride

Well, the last Pastor's Book Set was completed yesterday and once again it was a tremendous blessing.  The Kenyan pastors were so appreciative and responsive to the teachings about expository preaching.  They thanked us over and over again for opening up their eyes to a better way to study the Scriptures and preach the Truth found there, allowing Scripture to have it's own voice.  Then when they received their bookset of 60 books their smiles lit up the already bright African day.  God is so good to us and He truly blessed both presenters and recipients throughout our labor for His glory.

Last night, to celebrate what the Lord has done, Fred, Joy, Lorna and I went to the world famous Carnivore restaurant for dinner.  What a fun time we had.  The menu includes every kind of meat you can imagine, grilled on skewers over a huge charcoal pit and sliced off right on to your plate.  On to my plate were sliced slabs of ostrich, camel, crocodile, lamb, beef, pork, chicken, turkey, pork ribs (my favorite) and ostrich meatballs (I took a pass on the chicken livers).  During the meal African drums are beating and dancers are dancing and the atmosphere is like a huge carnival.  We had a great time.

^ "Veggies?  What're veggies?"  (I sure hope this meal stays still on the flight home.)

Today we will tour the SIM offices and see some of the other mission projects they are involved with, and then tomorrow we will begin the journey home.  I am anxious to return and share more of what a tremendous blessing this has been for us, and what a vibrant and God-centered mission our gifts support.  Fred and Joy are truly making an impact for Christ Jesus even beyond what I had imagined.  I thank God for their labors for Him and all the fruit that is so evident here.

Please pray for safe travel for Lorna and me as we return.

Love in Christ Jesus.

Mike
