The first day of the first conference went well.  The Holy Spirit was there in our worship and the seminars went well too.  Lorna was quickly corralled into being on the praise and worship team.  The other speaker I'm with is a New Testament scholar from a seminary in Philadelphia, and he's fantastic.  I'm really enjoying listening to him.  This conference has about 130 pastors in it and they are from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Everything is going fantastically for us, except for the sleeping part.  I never thought much about jet lag before, and it seems to me I didn't have any problems with it when I crossed the big pond when I wore a younger man's clothes.  This time, it's really zonking us out.  We just can't seem to get on a good sleeping pattern yet.  Perhaps since tonight will be our third night, it will be the charm.  I'll never scoff at jet lag again (and yes, we did everything we were supposed to do to avoid it, alas!).

What a joy it is to spend some quality time with Fred and Joy Fregerio.  We're staying in their home and we have a great time laughing and praying and enjoying their company.  They are such a blessing and they are doing the Lord's own work here.  It is good to fellowship with them.  God is so good to us.  Thank you for all your prayers, and please keep them going.  I'll write again when I have some time.

Love,

Mike
